Ethiopian Athletics Federation in collaboration with International Association of Athletics Federation (IAAF) and UN Environment installs the first stadium air quality monitor in Addis Ababa on November 02,2018.

On the launching event, Athlete Haile G/Selassie, president of Ethiopian Athletics Federation, said that Ethiopia is the third country in the world to have such air quality control monitor next to France and Argentina.
The president stated that the presence of such system helps Ethiopian athletics Significantly.
The IAAF and UN Environment (UNEP) are working jointly to address the issue of poor air quality, which has led to seven million deaths globally, according to a World Health Organization study.
IAAF reported that it will install about 1000 monitors stationed in IAAF certified athletics tracks around the world providing real time air quality data with in five-year.
